Hi
You have to install the new client (it will make all necessary changes and
you will get the new inventory). This can be done with sms itself.
Here are some new features detected by the inventory with SP3
Uninstallstring for applications
hypertrading capable and Multicole processors
virtual machines
activesync connected devices
usb devices

Hi
Note that the SP3 public beta is now available.
I tested it and USB is indeed detected automatically.

Sp3 will make this a lot easier, one of the features is better usb
reporting.

We are currently running sms 2003 and I am looking for a way to to
detect
USB devices that are plugged in to a system when the inventory is ran.
For instance, we are implementing card readers and we need to perform
an
inventory to see which systems may not have one.
