When trying to install the hardware (and later, software) inventory on
a client computer it runs through most of the install but then fails to
register at the end. I am always getting this in the client
inhinv32.log:

I'm not familar with how to register hinv32 as a pseudo-service. As
such the client inventory is not running correctly or reporting to my
SMS2k3. Looking at the insinv32.log for software it has the same log
just with sinv32 listed in the error for registering.
The account I'm using to install has full rights to everything on this
system and the SMS server.
Quick reboot of system afterwards did not help.
Tried removing the smsclient and reinstalling it, still no help.
Tried rerunning the inhinv32.exe, same thing.
Tried running mofcomp.exe with a known good sms_def.mof, no help.
Am I missing a .dll somewhere or a specific command line .exe I should
be running? Any ideas or areas to further look at would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
