I've been trying to record the domain logon server (e.g.echo
%logonserver%)
during SMS hardware inventory as we had a suspicion some of our DC's were
being 'ignored' for logins, so I edited the SMS_def.mof file to include
the
NETWORK LOGIN PROFILE group and under that set the LogonServer string to
TRUE
as well
When I use resource explorer to view my machine, I can see the new group
but
under 'Logon Server', I see \\* against each user on my machine. Obviously
searching for \\* on google doesn't get me very far ;)
Any ideas?
The difficulty here... sms hardware inventory runs under the context of
'local system', not the user account...
