This sounds interesting. All SMS hardware inventory does is go off of WMI
and collect data and send an xml report. It doesnt even touch any software.
The only thing that HW inventory does that is even remotely connected to
software isntalled is to collect data for Add/Remove Programs from the
registry.
Is there anything else that is happening on the client before the apps stop
running. Any other thing that looks like a coincidence. HW inventory causing
it sounds remote.
