Thank you both for your time and input. For machines that we are building from this time forward we are placing this info in the registry and I have changed the SMS_DEF.MOF file to inventory this info. But we have a lot of machines already out in production that do not have this info in their registry which under the users context they can not edit the registry. I guess I can write a program and have it advertised through SMS and have the program run with authority to write to the registry and then the inventory will work.
