SCCM Boot Task Sequence Wizard from HDD

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi all.

I asked a question about booting SCCM OSD TS manager from local hard drive
on the general forum and didn’t get much joy, so I thought I’d give it a try
here too.
I hope someone can help...

Basically I am trying to boot into Task Sequence wizard from a partition on
the Hard Disk. I am doing this because we have an in-house OS deployment
system (that does other OSes) and I have to work within the confines of that
system. All I need to do is boot WINPE/TS wizard from the HDD and then carry
on working from RAMDrive as normal, then image the HDD once I no longer need
it. I know WinPE works fine, I got that working... it is just that the TS
Wizard cannot find its configuration data.

After many frustrating days working on this, I have come to the conclusion
that TS boot must behave differently depending on whether it is booting from
removable media or hard disk. So does anyone know if there is a way (switch
/config setting) that I can set to make it boot from the HDD exactly the same
as it would from the USB device /CD ?

My original question (with some logs) is at :

I’d hate to have to scrap SCCM OSD over something so trivial!

I am getting a bit desperate now, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Vlad.
