Re: SMS_Collection_Evaluator

Garth,

Thanks for the response, unfourtunitly I cant see where this relates to the
problem I'm having. In my scenario, processing stops at the deslting of files
..udc, .adc etc from the colleval.box. As long as i dont make any changes, the
server will run clean without any errors. As soon as a change is made that
places files in the colleval.box folder thats when the problem starts. The
system isnt deleting those files ( system rights are not an issue here) and
continues to cycle thru them endlessly untill I delete them. Logs show that
the information was sucessfuly added to the sql DB and the files is going to
be deleted then file not found. Very strange indeed.
I'm no DBA so for me to jump into editing sql tables or troubleshooting the
DB is a little out of my realm and our DBA's here dont have a clue how sms
works so im kinda stuck here.
I have set up a test enviroment with a sms configuration simular to what i
have in production. I'm going to make some comparisons between the two and
see if anything jumps out.
By the way SMS 2003 sp2 advanced security module with schema extended.

Hi all,
I hope someone can help me out here. This has been going on for a while
and
I cant figure out the cause. I'm running a Central site stand alone server
with all roles installed and no child sites. This site also hosts the sql
database and up untill a month or so ago or so ran fine.

Now anytime i manually initiate a refresh of the collections I get the
race/
loop condition described below. If i add a collection it will do it, if i
add
a advertisement it will do it too. Nothing really happens, the package
never
goes out, it used too work flawlessly.

The .UDC, . DC, .ADC files in the colleval.box folder never get deleted.
The
colleval.log shows that the updates are succesfull, deleting file, file
not
found even though its setting right there in colleval.inbox.
If I stop the sms executive and manually move the files and then restart
the
executive, The colleval.log shows SMS going thru the collections and
updating
the database and then it stops and goes to sleep untill the sleep interval
has passed. It then cycles thru and goes to sleep again with no problem.
BUT
If i create a new collection, delete an old collection or object, assign
or
create a package, or manaully refresh the existing collections on comes
the
loops. It will continue looping untill i shut down sms and delete the
files
in colleval.box again

Any ideas.??

Thanks
CC

Components status for SMS_Collection_Evaluator component. Every day, I get
thousands of Message ID 2513 followed by 2516

2513 says:
SMS Collection evaluator receved an .adc (add collection file0 for
collection "DUB00038", created a result table in the SMS Site Database,
and
is updating the collections membership.

2516 says:
SMS Collection evaluator receved an .adc (add collection file0 for
collection "DUB00038", created a result table in the SMS Site Database,
and
updated the collections membership.

Thousands of them are appearing. This sets the component
status to Critical.
Every collection in my site has multiple messages - its
like its looping through each collection continuously, issuing these
messages every time it passes through the collections.
