That was the ticket.. the command to extend the schema.. I think i may
have run it before.. but possibly closed the window too soon, not
sure, or maybe after reinstalling i thought i didnt need to rerun it
and i did.. at least now that i have.. i have assigned=yes for the
workstations.. now ill wait awhile and see if they install ok.
Thanks again for the help.
Glad I could help.

I spoke too soon.. well.. all machines listed are "assigned" to be
installed (more than before), but only 2 have actually worked and
those two are machines where there never was an sms 2003 version of
the client..

How do i get the other clients that are 2003 version to upgrade and
install? They still point to the old site code and all.

Or am i going to be forced to goto each machine and install the new
client manually?

Thanks

verify the ccm.log on the server.
And the ccmsetup.log on failing clients.

On one client.. i did see it attempted a repair of the client but
errored out related to account rights.. (i made the client agent
account a domain admin account).. I'm assuming this was needed/the
right thing to do, but maybe not? Is this failing on this account?

I also noticed that one user.. when i had him try to goto \\smsserver
\SMS_SITECODEHERE he received access denied.. i'm not sure why this
is the case.. i'm assuming all users should have read access, so the
client can install.- Hide quoted text -

Actually .. I tried this on the two machines that did succeed (both
Vista machines).. and those users cant access the folders either.. so
maybe this is normal? (though how would i goto a given regular user
machine and install the client if i had to?)
