So Site2 isn't actually an SMS Site - it's simply a DP belonging to Site 1?
If so then its IP addresses (AD Site) should be defined as belonging to SMS
Site1.

Couple of other questions:Thank you again for the reply.
1. Is Site 2 a Secondary or Primary?
2. If it's a Secondary does it have a Proxy Management Point?
3. If it's a Primary have the clients been reassigned or do they still
think
Site 1 is their assigned site (Not that that should make a difference.)

How are you defining the Roaming boundaries of Site 2? (Remember also
that
for Advanced Clients it's the Roaming boundaries which are important.)
If you're using the AD site boundaries as the Site 2 boundaries go
back
and
check the AD Sites and Subnets assignments and make sure that there's
no
overlapping.

Check out the client boundaries at Site2, are they outside the
protected DP boundary?
Also check out CAS.log and Locationservices.log from few problem
clients at Site2.
work, i am having issues getting them to do what they are suppose to
be doing. I also get no error in any of my logs for SMS Clients.
Here's an update: When i configure the Site2 DP as protected and
assign the boundaries of Site2, the Site2 clients will get a
"content
not found" message in the CAS log.
If i unprotect the DP for Site2, the clients see the content and
install just fine. This seems to work as i want, but this does not
guarantee me that clients at Site1 will not try to get content from
Site2 - defeating the whole purpose - I need Site2 DP to be
protected.
Why isn't my protected DP working as intended? I assume it is a
boundary issue, but i only have two. I have reconfigured the default
AD site to exclude Site2 boundary and created a new AD site for
Site2. This is the AD site i associate the protected DP with.
Clients in the LocationServices logs acknowledge that they are in
the
Site2 AD site.
Any more help is GREATLY appreciated.- Hide quoted text -
The Sites are defined in AD. I have double and triple checked the
Subnets in these sites and they are perfect. This is why i am so
stumped on this issue. I only have two AD sites and the subnet for
Site2 is NOT overlapping in the Site1 Ad Site. I seems like an
overlapping issue though.
Could this be because Site2 is a newly created AD Site and it's subnet
WAS in the Site1 AD Scope? I know that clients are reporting
membership of the correct AD Site(s) in the logs. But could it have
something to do with the New AD Site that was created?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.- Hide quoted text -
Site2 only has a DP. This is only a Server Share DP. No other
configureation. This is a very simple setup and i cannot seem to
figure this out.
More Advice?- Hide quoted text -
Hi Bernie,
I don't think you quite understand what i have been talking about. I
am aware that i have only one SMS Site. I am referring Site1 and
Site2 as seperate locations and separate defined AD sites - not SMS
Sites. I only have a DP at Site2 and the stated solution to my
situation was to put a "Protected DP" at Site2 and i would not have to
place an MP there. The DP is working as stated, but if i protect and
define it's boundaries it is not. I'm looking for troubleshooting
advice as to why my boundaries are not working even though they are
defined correctly.
