Also, noticed that when I used the MPGetPolicy utility it gets back alot of
PolicyID(s) but when I go to select one of these the right hand pane says
"Proxy Authentication Required".

Thanks for your help...........Jason

There's only the 2 inital items. It appears they're not getting the policy as
all of the components are showing up as installed and this should get
changed. I have also ensured that they're using the correct wins servers and
that the SLP can be resolved.

So the clients are assigned to the correct site?
How many actions do you see in the control panel applet?

Also, the MP is functioning correctly as my machines in the domain are
functioning correctly and I'm only having problems with some machines that
are in workgroups; and having the same problem with different workgroup
machines trying to connect to different SMS primary servers.

I have some workstations that are at a site and these machines are in a
workgroup and are not getting policy. These machines have 0 items in run
advertised programs and do not have the sms client configured. I have checked
the following:
* site boundaries has correct IP subnets specified
* machines can ping sms servers
* machines can access MP URL tests as long as FQDN is used for server name
* DP and SLP entries are created in WINS and machines can resolve them
* auto site assignment works
* wmi tests OK
* initiaited machine policy retrieval and evaluation cycle.

Please advise if I'm missing something that needs to be checked. I ran the
MPTroubleshooter and it failed on "Verify the Default Website is Running" and
"If the MP is W2k3: Verify that the BITS Web Extensions are enabled". Both of
these items failed with "Cannot create ActiveX component". Also, CAS.log is
showing "Software Distribution Site Settings for the client are missing from
WMI.".

Thanks in advance for your help...........Jason
