I just installed SMS 2003 SP3 on a new box (SMS 2003 SP1 is currently running live in the environment on another box). On the new SP3 server, I am recieving an error in the HIERARCHY_MANAGER component. It states: "Systems Management Server cannot update the already existing object "SMS-Site=LSE" in Active Directory". ID: 4912

I was recieving a message stating it couldn't even write to the SMS container in AD so I gave the SMS Server account full access the the System container and the System Management container in A.D. After I did that, it then wrote one file within the System Management container (SMS-Site-LSE), but it did not create any subfolders like the previous site has in this location (SLP and MP folders).

So it has full access to the folders (at least I believe it does), but now it seems to be trying to update the file and doesn't have access to do that. Any ideas what I can try? Thanks, Ryan.
Have you given full access to this object AND all child objects?
You need to hit the advanced button on the security tab to be able to do this.
