I just installed SMS 2003 SP3 on a new box (SMS 2003 SP1 is currently running live in the environment on another box). On the new SP3 server, I am recieving an error in the HIERARCHY_MANAGER component. It states: "Systems Management Server cannot update the already existing object "SMS-Site=LSE" in Active Directory". ID: 4912Have you given full access to this object AND all child objects?
I was recieving a message stating it couldn't even write to the SMS container in AD so I gave the SMS Server account full access the the System container and the System Management container in A.D. After I did that, it then wrote one file within the System Management container (SMS-Site-LSE), but it did not create any subfolders like the previous site has in this location (SLP and MP folders).
So it has full access to the folders (at least I believe it does), but now it seems to be trying to update the file and doesn't have access to do that. Any ideas what I can try? Thanks, Ryan.
You need to hit the advanced button on the security tab to be able to do this.
