In preparation for our production environment, I have just upgraded our Development SMS with SP2 successfully, however, in my readings, such as in the 'SMS 2003 SP2 Upgrade Checklist', I was under the impression that the clients do not automatically upgrade. With this information I prepared a package and found during my testings of my upgrade package push to one test client, another client was automatically upgraded. I'm unsure how or why this has happened as I have confirmed the upgrade was not from my package and the only information in the application log is an MsiInstaller source with the description of "Product: SMS Advanced Client - Installation operation completed successfully." - this client is not a new client, it was configured and made an SMS client on February 2, 2007.Are these clients site systems by any chance?
This was noted last week and when I resumed my work this week, my report now shows that another client was automatically upgraded?? Anyone have any informatin on why a select couple of SMS clients are upgrading themselves?
