As Steve mentioned, check the release notes/readme, and online
documentation. I went straight to SMS 2003 SP1 from SMS 2.0 SP5, so if
you are at SMS 2003 (no SPs) I don't have any real world advice for
you; but the upgrade from SP1 to SP2 was the cleanest, easiest SMS
upgrade I ever did. About the only thing I notice people forgetting is
the extend their AD Schema. You don't have to do so, but the schema
change is really minor, and you'll get warnings in your Console's Site
Status until you do.
