Hi Robert,
SMS 2003 does not provide this functionality out-of-the box. You could create a script that searches through files on the local machine and once "specific files" are found extracts these properties and write them to WMI. Then modify your sms_def.mof reporting classes to retrieve the information into SMS.

Hi Guy's
I would to know if SMS 2003 can able to audit a "summary of specific files".
for example I have excel files name "payroll.xls" I want to know what is the
Title, Subject, Author, Manager, Company and other details specific of the
files.
Basically I can see this information when I open this files in the
properties. I don't want this approach I would like to automate this issues.
I can Access this informtion unders Files Menu and then select proerties
of the payroll.xls and give me this information below...
1. Title,
2. Subject,
3. Author,
4. Manager,
5. Company
6. and other details specific of the files.
need your advise ...
