On MP machine, check following log files to see if there is any error:
mpsetup.log
ccmexec.log (this is the log of MP service)
Verify if the ccmexec service is running
On the client machine,
check following log files:
Ccmexec.log (this is the log of the client service)
LocationService.log (if there is any error for not able find MP).
PolicyEvaluator.log (if the client receives any policies from MP)
Thanks,

I have installed SMS 2003 with SP1 & SQL 2000 with SP4.Further, I have not
extended the AD Schema instead added the 2 entry (SMS_SLP[1Ah] &
MP_001[1Ah])
in WINS Server.
SMS 2003 Server discovered the workstation & SMS Client also gets
installed
in workstation. But on collection it is showing showing NO in Client.
When we run MP troubleshooter it gives following error:
1. "Testing MPLIST HTTP request functionality" ---- "Failed" ---- "Failed
to query web site:
http://INTDELSMS01:80/SMS_MP/.sms_aut?MPLIST (Exception: The remote
server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.)"
2. "Testing MPCERT HTTP request functionality" ---- "Failed" ----- "Failed
to query web site: http://INTDELSMS01:80/SMS_MP/.sms_aut?MPCERT"
3. "If the MP is W2k3: Verify that the BITS Web Extensions are enabled."
---- "Failed" ---- "Cannot create ActiveX component."
