Re: Add Sync Tools won't Connect to AD

Hello,

Weird problem here.
We have an Active Directory with all our resources. We can access the AD
with our user accounts, members of an NT4.0 domain that has a bilateral trust
with the AD. These accounts are Domain Admins of the AD.
We can manage the whole AD and Ou structure without any trouble.

However, when I use the AD Discovery (from the SMS 2.0 AD Sync Tools) with
my NT4.0 account, it always fails with Win32 error 1355 "The specified
domain either does not exist or could not be contacted."
I need to launch the tool with an AD user (admin of the domain) for it to
work.
The tool simply connects to the AD with a GetObject("LDAP://<ldap path").
I can't see what's wrong there, and what permissions I need to apply to the
NT 4.0 accounts.

Any idea ?
Many thanks!
