Hey all,
We have approximately 1650 workstations. In the Admin Console, only
about
650 are showing up with the site code "xxx". All of the machines are
showing assigned, and have the advanced client. Does anyone have an
idea on
how we can get this other 1k or so to show up? If you go to a
particular
machine that isn't showing up, they are usually missing the three
letter
site code. Putting that in and clicking on OK (not discover, this
never
works!), will usually get it to come up. Aside from touching all 1K
machines, is there a quick way to get these clients talking? I
understand
that there isn't a registry setting or anything like that. We are
running a
batch file on the local machine that basically re-installs the client,
which
seems to be working, but is really, really slow. Thanks in advance for
any
assistance! Due to upper level restrictions, we cannot extend our AD
schema. Everything else looks fine (as we are having 600+ working)....
thanks in advance..

Hi,
Without the schema extension, you have to be sure that your MP and SLP are registered with WINS and that your client are client of that WINS.
