Hello Maureen,
Could you be more specific in telling us what URL you type in.
Also do you get this same error when launching the Report Viewer from the
Admin Console ?
thanks,
Sai

anything?
I type the url into my browser, hit enter, and get the error right then and
there. Thank you so much for helping me with this - i sure hope i can get it
solved!

Hello Maureen,
Could you give me more details regarding the steps to repro this problem.
Do you get this problem when trying to launch to the Report Viewers main page
or do you get the problem when you acually run a specific report ?
If it is the latter and you get a 500 error after some time if could be an
AspBufferingLimit issue. Please see the FAQ below.

Also I believe there were some security changes in Windows 2003 SP1 that
defaulted to only allowing 'Administrators' DCOM permissions.
Add your user to the 'Distributed COM Users' local group on the SQL server
machine

Hello,
I am running Windows 2003 server, SP1, SMS 2003 SP1, and my reporting just
doesn't work. The web page responds with a 500 Internal Server Error.
I have the reporting point enabled.
I have a local SMS Reporting Users group, populated with users.
I have given the users security access in SMS to Read all instances of the
class Report.
I have run dcomcnfg and given the SMS reporting users Local Activation
permission.
I have removed the "\\" for the local path in IIS.
I do not have anonymous access turned on.
I do have Basic authentication selected. I have selected my default domain
and realm.
I ran an SMS site reset.
This used to work. Please! Help!
