Re: SMS and Active Directory

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I was able to extend active directory, clients are updated to the new client
version now. I still cannot install the console on the remote machine. I get
the error message on my local box cannot read from the 1.x style site control
file \site.srv\sitecfg.box\sitectro.ct0, failed to retrieve a verifiable sc
file
that is in the smssetup.log file

I've tried this and it runs, but in the log it reports that it "failed
to
create attribute cn..." there are 14 of them, and last line is it
failed
to
extend the active directory. Yes the site server name is a member of
the
local admins, and the id has rights to ad changes.
Its also reporting the schema has not been extended in the smssetup.log
the sitecomp.log is reporting that an older version of the sms schema
extensions was detected, plesae update the schema. catch 22 :)

Have you updated the schema with the SP2 addtions?

Does the server have the rights to modify the AD objects?

i am recieving this message in SMS Status messages in sms site
component
manager...

Systems Management Server cannot update the dNSHostName property
for
the
existing object "cn=SMS-MP-INT-INT-SMS" in Active Directory.
This
property
is used to publish fully qualified host names in Active
Directory.

Possible cause: The Active Directory schema has not been
extended
with
latest version of the SMS Active Directory classes and
attributes.
Solution: Ensure the schema has been extended with the latest
version
of
the
SMS Active Directory classes and attributes. The schema can be
extended
with
the tool "extadsch.exe" from the SMS directory on the SMS Site
server
that
reported this message.

plz reply me immediately
