assigned clients

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

My sms 2003, in windows 2003 domain, discovers the clients very quickly, but
after only a few clients are assigned (after a lot of days).
Can I remotly force assigned process of the clients? (Like remotly force
"Discovery data collection cucle" or "HD inventory cycle").
All clients are windows xp sp2.
