RE: Removing a DP

Hi Terry,

Thank you for posting!

>From your message, I understand that you need to remove a DP.

Based on my experience, you may refer to the following steps to remove it
manually.

1 Open every package that used these Distribution Points, then delete
these Distribution Points from the list. To do that,

SMS Admin Console -> Packages -> Distribution Points -> highlight -> Right
click -> Delete.

2. Delete these Distribution Points from SQL Database.

Open SQL Enterprise Manager. -> Select SMS Server -> SMS Database -> Tables
-> locate SysReslist -> right click -> Open Table -> Return all rows -> If
you see these server names under ServerName column, it should be deleted.

3. To delete them, use SQL Query Analyzer. Consult with SQL expert to
create a SQL query. Basically, you have to use "Delete" TSQL statement.

4. Stop and start SMS_Executive.

Also, you may refer to the following steps.

1. Go into SQL Enterprise Manager and open the SMS Database
2. Go to Tables and select the Table "Summarizer_SiteSystem"
3. Right click and select Open Table-Return All Rows
4. Place a "-1" (without the quotes) in the Replicate Column for all
instances of DP Servers that no longer exist.
5. Go to Tables and select the Table "sysreslist" delete all references to
the component server that is no longer valid.
6. On the site server access and delete old Site Component Servers still
found in the registry of the SMS site server under:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/SMS/Components/SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER/Component
Servers

Delete those servers no longer defined as component servers (that is, not
set in the MMC Site Settings/Site Systems as a DP).

7. Then open the SMS admin console and DELETE the entry under Site
Settings/Site Systems.

Hope this helps! If you have further concern, feel free to let me know.
Have a great day!

Sincerely,

| So three hours ago I went to a site system and removed the checkbox to be
a

| However nothing is happening??

| There is no throttling or sender restrictions... it is on a high speed

| Does anyone know how I can speed things up here? I have tried starting
