SMS and Rational Clearcase

I've been researching this issue for a few days now but can't find anything
on the web. Any help would be greatly appreciated:

We are in the process of rolling out SMS 2003 to our clients. We suddenly
started seeing problems on many (but not all) of the machines that are
running Rational Clearcase once they receive the push of the SMS client. The
affected machines will boot to the Windows desktop but the Server,
Workstation, and Print Spooler services will not be started.
In the course of my troubleshooting I discovered that disabling the Atria
Cred Manager service (a Clearcase service) eliminated this problem. It looks
to me like that service is starting at boot, but somehow hangs the other
networking services along the way. I have tried playing with the service
dependencies, but nothing useful has come of that.
All clients are Windows 2000 SP4. Our SMS server is running Windows 2003 and
has all current patches except for SP1. We do have an open ticket with IBM's
Clearcase support but I wanted to see if anyone had run into a problem like
this before on the SMS side.
Thanks.
