Software Metering - MS SQL

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

My organization has roughly 30+ MS SQL Servers in our domain and I am trying
to track the total number of SQL connnections made from client workstations.
Is it possible to use Software Metering to measure how many clients are
making SQL connections? If so, how would I go about this.
thanks!
