By design sms does not detect clients whose name cannot be resolved.
This was done to prevent dead hosts in Active directory to be
discovered. (Most companies do not clean their active directory of dead
systems).

Keep in mind that resolving the name can be done in more ways then just
dns, clients on the same subnet as the site server can be resolved by
broadcasts.
