Hi,
It works now.I went ahead cancelled the old advertisement and then created a new advertisement. This time i get the pop-up in the notification area but when i try installing it i get "This program cannot be run because program files are currently unavailable". On viewing the reports i find that the program is being received by the client but has staus "waiting" as it is waiting for content. I have waited for a 3-4 hrs and i just have one XP client as my test client. On viewing the "waiting" status on reports it shows me the folowing:
"The program for advertisement "XYZ20033 has not yet started because the content for the package "XYZ00029" - "Soft_Dist_Demo" (version 1) has not been acquired. Possible cause: The content for this program must be downloaded into the computer’s cache, or the content could not be located. Solution: If the program is being downloaded, no action is required. The program will start once the download has been successfully completed. If the content can not be located, ensure that a distribution point with this content is available for this computer. "

On the software distribution wizard i have :
1.Created a new package and program
2.Always obtain files froma source directory.
3.Distributing the MS04-14 patch for XP clients.
4.Command line: WindowsXP-KB837001-x86-ENU.EXE
5.Program can run whether or not a user is logged on.
6.This program will never expire
7.Have assigned the program

The patch that i want to advertise has reached the distribution point. I have tried the "Manage distribution Point" wizard and have updated the DP's too. It still doesnt work. I have the clients poll for advertisement every 60 minutes. Have upgraded to MBSA v1.2. It would be great if you could let me know what problem i am running into. Any suggestion would of great help.
Many Thanks!
