Chris,
If your SMS 2.0 sites are part of your SMS 2003 hiearchy, then definately
yes, you should detach first, then uninstall. If you just remove the site,
the parent site will still think it has to send stuff to that site and will
cause backups unneeded status errors, etc. Best to remove cleanly. It will
save you from having to do manual clean up later.
