Re: Problem with 07 Office Pdf/Xps Add-in

Do you have Acrobat? I can save publications as .ps and open them with the
distiller. (Acrobat converts the file into a PDF).
Might be your document has some corruption going on. Turn off your picture
display (View, Pictures), will the conversion work now?

Hi Mary

Thanks for your response. My gripe now is only with 07 Publisher and always
with the same error message - Publiser cannot save the file, with the Publish
as Pdf or Xps function.

With the Office PDF add-on you have to "save as". It will not be in the
printer list.

Are you getting an error message?

Hello John

Yes, I have the 2007 version and downloading to Desktop was what I did. I
have also tried PrimoPdf but the result was not satisfactory - incomplete
conversion i.e. 1 and a half page out of 8.

Anyway, I repeated downloading the Add-in and this time I could convert
Word, Excel and Powerpoint but not the Publisher (cannot save file), which
is my main concern.

I have also tried Pack and Go for commercial printing to create the pdf that
way but it could not complete the operation.

I looked in the Print Setup, the printer name dropdown shows my printer and
Microsoft XPS document writer only even though my download was for pdf and
xps.

Any other suggestion?

Menk

Hi John

Thanks for your response. Sorry I should have said that I've tried
what you've suggested and I got the prompt saying: Publisher cannot
find the file,
and I searched the net and came across Mary's posting.

I've tried printing with Word and Excel, as Rob suggested, but there
is no option to 'print or save' as pdf. The Print option shows only
Print, Quick Print and Print Review.

Apparently, the add-in has not been installed.
I'm guessing you are running the 2007 version
of Office?

Just as an experiment...try downloading the
file to your desktop and install from there.

2007 Microsoft Office Add-in:

Also...here's a free .pdf converter that may be
worth a try:

PrimoPDF
