Re: Publisher 2007 "cannot save file" to pdf

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

You are not the only one having problems with the pdf and publisher 2007. I
have had the very same problems.
I am using publisher 2007 full version. Nightmares with the installation,
installing and uninstalling and hours on the phone today to get it
operational finally. Now, it no longer allows me to use my pdf program.
Microsoft says pdf995 is a good program but it creates scrap on my computer
just like the program I already have. What happened here and how can it be
resolved?

Thanks a lot. The primopdf writer worked! Thanks a lot for your time and
help!

Can you download a different PDF writer and see if it works. www.primopdf.com
is
free.

There are two PDF plug-ins on the Office site, one is in combination with
XPS,
have you tried downloading this one?

This could be helpful
Enable support for other file formats, such as PDF and XPS

If you want, I will try to convert it for you. I have Acrobat.

Thanks for the tip. I have no add-ins at that location in Publisher. When
I
checked the same location in Word, PDF was not listed either. I saved the
downloaded file and when I browsed for it a box popped up and stated that
it
was not a valid office add-in.

I uninstalled/reinstalled yesterday and it made no difference with this
issue. I attempted to email the publisher file to a friend to convert the
file for me (as it is for a work project due today) and she informed me she
could not convert it (and could previously convert Publisher 2007 files)
because it said the file was corrupt.

I attempted to redo the project incase something in that particular file
was
messed up. That was unsuccessful and I went back to other files that I
have
converted previously, and they all have the same "Publisher cannot save
this
file" message.

Word still converts just fine. It appears to be a problem in my Publisher
2007 only.
I greatly appreciate your attempts to help. Should I just contact tech
support from microsoft or take it into the computer help squad from my
local
retailer where i purchased the software?

Look at the add-ins, see if the PDF is still enabled. Tools, add-ins.

Thank you for your prompt response. I have un-installed the plug-in
prior
to
re-installing it. The result is still the same. I am currently using
the
full version of office 2007. When I detect and repair it says nothing
is
wrong. I appreciate your advice. I believe I am going to attempt a
full
uninstall/reinstall today to see if that solves the problem.

I'm amazed that I'm the only one who seems to have this problem and
figure
it must be something that can be fixed with an uninstall/reinstall...

We'll see...

Don't know what to tell you. Did you un-install the plug-in before you
re-installed it? There are times when a re-install will not overwrite
files.
Is this the full version or a trial? Did you try a detect and repair?

I have been running Publisher 2007 since the release date. Up until
this
week I have had no problems converting my publisher files to pdf
files.
Now
publisher pops up a box that says " Publisher cannot save this file"
with
an
"ok" button and a link "was this helpful?" at the bottom when I
attempt
to
save as a pdf file. I have attempted to reinstall the plug-in and
been
unsuccessful and have converted a word document to pdf successfully.

Any help is greatly appreciated as the pop-up box is definitely NOT
helpful.
