JoAnn, Please explain to me why after you just got through telling her that
she has barely enough RAM to run Pub 2002 on Win98, why would you suggest
that she has enough RAM for XP. It may run, but certainly not well. It seems
to me that spending money on upgrading to XP and adding RAM would be better
spent on a new computer...IF that was a last resort.
I also don't understand why aren't you supporting Mary Sauer's suggested
steps at resolving the issues including the recommendation to reinstall or
update the video driver instead of going out and spending money and probably
not fixing her problem. What does the fact that the computer went into safe
mode when it crashed tell you? And if that doesn't fix the problem, aren't
there a lot of other things to check such as patches, printer drivers, NAV,
etc. etc. before suggesting or supporting wasting her money?
