Re: Open a .pdf in a new window

During the install of PDF-Viewer you can check a box to have files open in
the browser. And after opening the file you can, if wanted save the pdf
file.

Hi Don,

I haven't used your viewer, but with the Adobe Reader and the one I use
now, FoxIt Reader, they both have a browser plug in or add on. This means
that if you click on a link to a PDF file from a web page the pdf file
automatically opens in that browser window. You don't get the option to
save the file to your computer by simply clicking the link, as you would
for a Publisher file, or a zip file for example, which do not have a
browser plug in. So my thinking was that you can write the link to the pdf
file such that it will open in a new window using the methods we discuss
regularly here in the group...upload the pdf file to a download folder,
write the link to that folder, and then modify that link so it opens in a
new window.

Are you saying that you can set the options in PDF-Viewer to open a pdf
file in a new window automatically? I don't think you have that option
with the Adobe Reader or FoxIt. Or did I totally miss your point?

David,

Isn't opening a pdf file in a new browser window a function of the pdf
reader? Seems it is with PDF-Viewer, the one I use.

Good day all...little new to the whole website design and am having
some
issues with a .pdf file opening in a new window instead of the existing
window. I haven't published the website as yet, just getting some of
the
bugs out first. Any help would be much appreciated...
