Re: Publish a Web site by using ftp with Publisher 2007

You up loaded the "index_files"
Did you also upload or create the folder "index_files" on the server?
In order for the site to work you must have all those files in that folder.

Did you upload the "index.htm" file in the root directory? This is your home page that you see when you open the site.

Hang in there Debi, we will get it working for you.

Thank you for your patience with me and your help. Once I understand the
process I will be fine. I thought I could upload the files from Publisher
2007. Now I understand why they were not. I downloaded Filezilla and filled
out host, username and password. Then info was filled automatically into the
“Filename” box on the right. I went to the” local site” box and selected
where I saved the index. files. I double clicked on “index.files” and it
opened all of the files into the “Filename” box. I selected all of the files
in the “Filename” box, then selected “upload”. It was uploading the files. I
went to my website and there is a 403 Forbidden error. I have left the site
as is so that you could see the error. I went to the GoDaddy Hosting to see
if all of those files had uploaded into File Manager and they have. Do I
need to do something on the GoDaddy?

After you have created your web pages

Example "Documents/Publisher Files

Do not select Tools map a drive at this point

You should have the index.htm files and a sub folder "index_files"
containing the supporting pages and files. This is the default for 2007.

The next step is to FTP those files to the godaddy server
I looked at http://glasshappyonline.com/
Is this the site that you are working on? I also see that it was not
created using publisher.

If you are not familiar with FTP, Godaddy recommends using FileZilla for
transferring files form your computer to the web site. This is a free
program and is available at
http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client
