RE: http uploading

Many thanks for your reply.
I have emailed 1and1 with your suggetion as i have spent over 3 hours on the
phone and sent over 40 emails trying to reslove this form issue, MS Publisher
is not a programe they are too familiar with and i have even try to reinvent
the wheel on this on, all was well with XP, all gone pear shape with Vista.

I will post back to let you know how i get on, if you have anymore sepifics
that would be great.

Are you using XP or Vista.

Many Thanks

I called 1&1 and got a very helpful chap called James to take me through it.

It seems that the password that you use to upload through http is the FPSE
password that you set up on 1&1, not the 1&1 general username and password
that you upload through on ftp.

Crazy but it's true.

Good luck - wish I'd called earlier - solved in 23 minutes - spent a week
visiting message boards trying to find the answer.

I am also with 1and1, and i have been having a lot of problems with them
with regards to uploading in http, currently only able to upload in ftp.

I have a form included in my site with FPSE active, which requires http
uploading to work, are you using XP or Vista as your operating system.

My problem with http has only appeared now i have crossed over to Vista.

I would be interested to hear what 1and1 told you with regards uploading in
http with Publisher.

I've developed a site at;

www.property-rapide.com

which is redirected to

www.s197673277.websitehome.co.uk

I have hosting at 1&1 and confirmed that FPSE are installed and been given
the http address for publishing;

http://www.s197673277.websitehome.co.uk

When I use this to upload through Publisher, although it seems to connect
and asks me for my password and username, when these are submitted it says
the server cannot be found.

Any ideas anyone - I'm tearing my hair out !! 1&1 not being very helpful

I take it back 1&1 called me back and all solved.
