Hi:
I bit the bullet and got MS Expression Web, and it works.
You're absolutely right when you mention that many people use browsers
other than IE7.
What I first learned is that for web designing, you need a product
like MS Expression Web to see what you get with different browsers and
different resolutions.
My first shock was that Firefox may be fast and efficient, but it
can't handle MS graphic files like those in WMF format. Yet, MS
Internet Explorer makes them shine.
So I learned a valuable lesson starting out...... you must lower the
sophistication of your Web pages to reach more people.
From now on, I'll use only JPEG or GIF picture files that all browserscan handle.
Over and Out.

dude....it is one thing to create a site that you can view in IE7 but,----
you have to remember it is the web, not everyone is running the same
browser as you, maybe you would be better using NVU or something, i know
pages created with it work on a lot of browsers

Hi:
Recently, I ordered MS Office 2007, which includes MS Office Publisher
2007, and I will be running it on a computer with WinXP Professional
operating system.
Some promotional material states that I can create Web pages, but can
I create a Web site as one can do in other programs (Front Page,
etc.)?
For the past few years I used a Web site creation program, not Front
Page, that worked well....until I installed IE7. Then, the web site
program started producing purple (mauve) fonts and a mauve hue on some
web pages. The authors of the Web program suggested turning off my
Clear type settings in IE7 and certain other steps, all of which did
not work. Besides, I wanted to keep my IE7 default settings because
my screens looked much better using them.
I need a mid-range web site creator that is easy to use and the top of
the line programs (eg. Dream Weaver) is probably too complex for me.
However, MS has replaced Front Page with MS Expression Web, which
might meet my needs if Office Publisher 2007 can not help me create
the web site and upload it to the server hosting my site.
If I need more than Office Publisher 2007 to create a professional
looking Web site, can I use it to create some of my Web pages and then
put them together with links using MS Expression Web.
