Sounds like you have lost a hard drive or important files in the past. Good
job on the backup...

Yes...if you delete the files, then you will not have a site to see until
you replace them, but it may be that your new files are conflicting with
the
old, and that is why you need to delete them. If the design checker finds
a
problem with your Publisher file, you can try to upload again, but if
that
doesn't work, then the next step is to delete the old files.
Besides, you can always generate new ones from the backup copy of your
old
Publisher file that you made before you changed it, right? I am being a
bit
sarcastic here, because I fear you are probably like most people...you
didn't back up your old Publisher file. So...in the future, remember to
backup, backup and then backup again. Burn your old files onto a CD so if
your hard drive crashes...or should I say, WHEN your hard drive crashes,
you
don't have to recreate the file. It can be as simple as doing a Save As a
new file name before you make major changes. Then if you mess up, you can
always go back to the original.

I have a backup on my server, my hoster recommended it when I first started
my site. I've also got copies on my external hard drive, and in my other
partition on my computer.
