Re: Publisher 2003 Can't publish to Web

Dear David

Many thanks for your very prompt and helpful reply. Although I have been
thru many of the helpful queries and replies in the discussion area this is
the first time anyone has pointed out the need to enable FPSE especially if
there is a form in the website. I had wondered about FPSE since, even with my
limited knowledge, I know that .htm is a FP format but no one ever said it
before nor is it mentioned in Publisher Help

I do have a form in my website so it seems that FTP is not the way to go.

My web host support gave me the following information:

URL: www.johnjenner.com
USER Name: as for cpanel access (works OK)
Password: as for cpanel access (works OK)
Document root to my Webspace: public_html

What the last item 'document root' means is a mystery to me. I have not been
asked about this whilst trying to publish. does it matter? Incidentally, my
website is 3MB.

Once again, my thanks for your prompt reply. I shall try some of the
suggestions and, meantime, if any of the above is significant I should be
grateful for any further advice.

Kind regards

Lachlan Crisp

It sounds like you have uploaded the files to the wrong folder on your web
server. What is the URL?

Here are some articles about uploading that may help:

This is driving me nuts. I carefully go thru all the correct steps to
publish
my (Publisher2003) website to the web via FTP. All goes well up to the
point
of 'publishing files to the web'. That message will stay on screen for
hours.
I get no further message to say there is a problem but in the end there is
nothing to be seen on entering the URL in IE. When the 'publshing files
to
the web' message is on screen there are no pictures of files being
'thrown'
from folder to folder. Should there be?

BUT when I access the cpanel for the site the files are all there!

I am no expert but far from a beginner. Procedures, URL etc., have all
been
checked. Nevertheless I must be going wrong somewhere. Anyone got advice
befoere I waste another week?
