Ha...If the truth be told, I still use Pub 2000 for everything except
testing purposes and helping out here. It does everything I want to do,
and I prefer it to Pub2003 for web building especially. I know, Pub 2003
is "better" for print publications, but I have found no need to
switch...guess I am one of those, if it ain't broke, why fix it, people.

I have Irfanview installed, but rarely use it. I use PS Elements for most
things and probably a half dozen other apps for one or two functions. For
example I like the "warmify" quick fix in Picasa from Google, and haven't
been able to duplicate it in Elements. It seems like every time I buy a
new piece of equipment, I get a new photo editor or organizer, and have
just quit installing them, especially after loading a couple that took
over the defaults...

I try to help when I can. Longtime user of p2000 and now also have 2003 (a
tad on the noobish side still with 03).

I use IrFanview for quick resize, rename, optimization but PS to actually
edit an image. I find IrFanview much quicker on batch ops.

|I do too. I didn't mean to confuse people. In an ideal world, they
should
| resize and optimize the images in a third party image editing program
before
| they insert them into a Publisher 2003 webpage, and also use the
compression
| feature in Publisher. I suggest that because I suspect that most people
do
| not fully optimize the images for Publisher, and that there are
probably
| other graphics on the pages that will benefit from the compression.
Using
| both, you get the fastest loading pages.
|
| FWIW I use Pub 2000 and import my images rather than insert them. I
find I
| get better results that way, but that is probably beyond what most
people
| want to do when they choose to use Publisher to produce their sites.
|
| Thanks for your comments...they are always helpful.
