Unless you changed the defaults in Publisher, when you Publish to Web, you
get an index.htm file and a index_files folder that contain your other pages
and all your graphics. Though it should make absolutely no difference, if
you want an index.html file instead of the index.htm file, then when you go
to Publish to the Web and get to the Save in dialog, choose a folder on your
hard drive where you can find the files after you publish them...perhaps
create a folder called "websitefiles"...and then under the File name, use
the drop down arrow to choose "index.html", and Save. When you look in the
"websitefiles" folder you will find not only that your index file ends with
the *.*html extension, but also your other pages will also use that
extension. So, delete all your old files off of your host site, and upload
the new index.html and index_files folder...don't try to rename files that
are residing on your server, or old files on your computer.
