Re: where are all the other months?

To gain the convenience and ease of building a website with Publisher, means
giving up some things. Publisher should be used for only small simple
static sites... the KISS philosophy if you will. If you want dynamic
functionality, then use software specifically for web design, like
FrontPage. Think about your goals for your website, and read: "Using
Publisher for web sites" and you will better understand the choices and
limitations:
http://msmvps.com/blogs/dbartosik/articles/80566.aspx

FWIW, you are using the best version of Publisher to produce a website...for
a number of reasons. So don't let a few limitations slow you down ;-) There
are workarounds to accomplish most anything you want to accomplish. You can
produce a very functional, attractive website, but you just have to change
your mindset a bit. Publisher web docs are a very different media than print
docs...

As I said, Google for "automatic calendars", "automatic calendar script", or
some other key words, and you will likely find some JavaScript code that you
can insert using the "insert html code fragment" feature, that will give you
the dynamic functionality you want. And if you don't, it is easy to produce
and link 11 more months/pages for the rest of the year. Heck you can even
have it pop up in a new window specially designed just for the calendar.
Just examples...

to change it, click on the wand at the bottom of the calendar, and
the Wizard window gives you the option of changing the date. This
does not change automagically each month, you change it, or insert
multiple calendars, perhaps on multiple pages.

I don't know what you mean by "I also looked on the index and
calendar pages for scripts, no scripts." If you are looking for a
script that automagically changes the month on your site, each
month, that isn't going to happen from within Publisher...you will
do it manually. Publisher produces static pages, and it sounds like
you are wanting dynamic pages. Or perhaps you might find a free
script that you can insert via the insert html code fragment
feature?? Google for free script...

I have been experimenting with MSPUB2000 making webpages.

I tried making 2 different sites with the wizard.

I put calendars on each site, and saved the pages in html format
each batch
in their own site folders.

When I saved the site in html, it correctly generates an image file
of a calendar month. Ex: img7.gif = june.

I looked at each site foler in thumbnail mode. I can see the
img7.gif month
image = june.

I see the june calendar, but where are all the other months?

I also looked on the index and calendar pages for scripts, no
scripts.

How do they do that? The month has to change, doesn't it?

Sounds dumb, but I am mystified. MSPUB seems to be a real simple
way of generating a page, but I want to be sure.

No, I was just using the WebWizard where it automatically inserts the
calendar, and 5 or 6 orther automatically generated pages. I am
disappointed, but you did answer my question.

Can you imagine what a total beginner would think if they had uploaded
this
site, and wondered why the month didn't change. I guess they thought that
no
one would notice something like that.

Must have been something like "the nutty programmer"
