And so, why do you think you will get different advice by posting again to
the Publisher newsgroup? As David suggested, post to the Windows XP group.

I have had (am still having) the same problems as above, even after
re-installing microsoft office - nothing microsoft supplies has fixed this
problem, as a last resort i am burning all me files to dvd and
transferring
to a Mac - atleast thier software works.

This forum on Publisher web design is not really a place to get the best
help
for such an issue(s).
You should be using a Windows XP support forum.
Most likely Windows XP is shutting things down due to some issue so that
it
can protect the state of the OS, that's what it's designed to do.
Some common sense things to try before you seek help from Windows XP
experts
would be ....
1) uninstall Norton (crap imo and others) and see if that helps.
2) use system restore. restore to a previous time when you thing the pc
ran
fine.

A white box pops up and it will say: MS "word" (or whichever program
I'm in)
encounterd and error and needs to close. Then it gives me the choice if
I
want to report to MS or not. I have been. I also went to control
panel>administrative tools> event viewer and I can see many items in
here but
don't know what to do from here.
I have repaired office, didn't help. Uninstalled office and installed
office. None seem to help. After I had uninstalled office and before I
had
installed it again, I was in EI and got the same error again...so that
was
without any office program on my computer.

OK let's see if I can get it typed this time without a shutdown of
IE.
Any
MS program I use encounters error after 2-5 mintues and shutsdown.
All
Office products, Front Page, Publisher, IE MS anti spyware.
Randomly. I
am
running Windows XP and Office XP with all updates current. I just
loaded
the
new MS Defender also. I have Norton too. This is a new computer.
