Re: Frames in Publisher

Maybe I`m bad in trying to explain this :-)
Ok...it`s like this. I`m making a website (publisher doc) in publisher...and
saving it as a website (html)in my rootfolder. Now..this is what I have been
doing all along...that works just great in general. But all of a sudden one
of the pages I`ve made, accordingly to the previous steps, wont open in
publisher...even though it`s created in publisher...and this due to frames. I
have...as far as I know...not used frames creating my pages. This is a
mysterie to me.

By the way...that file extension matter...is unchecked and have been all the
time.
All the files in my rootfolder created in publisher are html (saved as
website) and the extension is as I mentioned visible to me....

Herxses :-)

OK...I am still not too clear about what you are trying to do (sometimes I
am more dense than others).

It sounds like you are trying to open a *.html file. You should be making
changes in your original *.pub file, and generating new HTML files from your
Publisher document...not editing the HTML files directly...or importing old
HTML files back into Publisher to edit them.

Which version of Publisher are you using?

What is the extension on the file you are trying to open? Is it a *.pub or
*.html file? If you can't see the extension then go to Control Panel >
Folder Options > View and uncheck 'Hide extensions for know file types'.

Hi David...thanks for taking the time to respond.
My publisher file (wich is a html website created in publisher) wont open
inside publisher. I get a notice that the page includes frames and it
redirects me to Micrs. Word for editing the page. When I try to load the
page
inside Word I get the following notice " Can`t open. Invalid catalog
name".
Either way I`m not able to open this page. And as I said previously..this
is
a quite new fenomenen. I have edited the same page several times before
without adding frames of any kind.

Herxses,

Is it that your Publisher file won't open, or your website won't open in
the
browser after being uploaded? Have you patched your browser recently?
Have
you cleaned out the internet cache?

What is the URL?

How is it possible that a webpage produced in publisher and that just
have
been added text from time to time all of a sudden wont open. The
explanation
is that the webpage is using frames ?? This has never been a problem
before.
How am I to go about this problem ?
