Both protocols will upload your site files, but http uses FP extensions on
the server (means your server host had to install them), whereas ftp is the
default standard method.
I do not see in your site source code that your site is a Publisher made
site.

If I am somehow mistaken then post back detailing the exact steps you are
taking to upload the site and include at what point the problem occurs and
explain the problem, so I can try and spot the problem area.
