You're welcome Steve. It's the Sun that does it.

Tools -> Options -> View Tab -> Date Format does the trick. It seems
really obvious now ;-)

I ran some tests on this and found that I could create a map in Project
to line up the columns with Google Calendar. I used the following as a
test:
Project Field Google Field Data Type
Name Subject Text
Start Start Date Text
Finish End Date Text
This almost works. For some reason the date fields in Project are not
recognized as Date types, so are saved as text. When you look at them in
Excel, they appear as Sun 7/19/09. Google will not read these, and you
can't simply reformat them in Excel. Retyping them in the correct format
(which is completely pointless) will fix the problem, and they will
import successfully into Google Calendar.
I'll keep playing with this and will let you know if I find a solution.
I suspect that this will need to be customized in VBA or something.

Don't think that Project will do iCal format. You could try saving your
Project as a CSV file and importing that into Google. You might need
to modify it in Excel before it will import correctly. See the Google
online help forums for CSV file import problems.

Is there a way to export a project in ical format.
I want to be able to import project schedule into a google calendar.
