Updating Progress on a Project

Hello,

I am looking at creating a Maxoil Project file, with all of our ongoing
projects as subtasks.

The area I am not sure about is updating actual progress on a project,
depending on employees' hours worked on a specific project. Do you just enter
the specific hours on the Resource Usage ***? And how do I set a financial
and time-based budget for a project, so I can measure whether actual progress
has went over or under these financial and time-based budgets?
