You were right in this case. Norton Sucks! I had many problems with my vista
system so at this point I am bit biased and don't have any confidence in MS
systems
anyways....

Are you running Norton? There have been a number of reports in this
newsgroup of a recent update in Norton anti-virus causing a problem
with Project files. Disable the Norton Office Plug-in and see if
that resolves the problem It possible it's "Norton sucks".

AFTER the
latest system re-installation. Obvously it did work in the past.
My configuration is (all German versions):
Base Operating system (Vista Business) newly installed.
Full install of Office 2007
Installed Project 2003 - required since we still have a 2003
server
around.
I am unsure of SP level of Project 2003. When I try to install
SP2 or SP3
get the response "no applicable software installed" or so.
What I have done so far.
Some hints suggest this maybe due to ActiveX controls. Disabled
all. No
change.
In the registry deleted all key that pointed to add-ins for
Project 11.
Unfortunately no change either
