Simple web-based task manager?

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I am developing a web-based application. I have a small team of
developers. I bought a copy of Project 2007 Standard, which I intend
to use for the overall project management. I have some experience with
project management software.

In addition to Project, I think I need a simple task manager that I
can install on the website that will allow me to create tasks, assign
them to developers, and keep track of progress. Just simple task
tracking.

Does someone make such a toll I can buy and install on my website?

I already checked out the web-based project management companies, but
(a) I do not want to put my data on their website and (b) I don't want
to pay a monthly fee, especially one that includes a per-user fee.

Any suggestions appreciated
.
