Re: Can't Open Project Plan from SharePoint

Thanks Chak,

I'll tell all the office members running Project 2003 to install SP3 for
their version.

I uploaded the Project Plan with 2007 Professional without a problem. I did
not have any problems opening it prior to uploading nor do I now. I can log
on to the SharePoint Server and open the file without a problem, thus my
heartburn and confusion.

Hi Glen,

Maybe I should have posted like this: I uploaded a Project Plan to
SharePoint without any problems.

There are folks in the office who try and open the project but both Project
2007 and 2003 start then crash, stating there is a problem with Project. Can
you give me any clue why that happens? It's annoying for everyone. I
checked and everyone has the latest Service Packs. I uploaded to Sharepoint
using Project 2007 Pro, not connected to Project Server.

Hello Bill,

First of all question for you, please could you specify which version
of ms project (2003 or 2007) that you uploaded to SharePoint? Also,
the folks are trying to open the project plan, which version of MS
Project installed on their machines.

f the user have MS Project 2003 installed on their machine and trying
to open the 2007 version MPP file, probably user can install the
convertor to address this issue. You can download the convertor
(Project 2003 Service Pack 3) from here:

URL to download convertor to resolve the crash issue:
