Re: changing colour of tasks contained in a rolled up summary

Hello Andy,

I'm not sure I follow your question exactly. I'm guessing you want to
be able to color code a task based upon resources assigned (your
reference to Fred from FAQ 31) as well as use the same criteria on a
rolled up summary bar?

You will need to add two new bar styles but you can use the same Flag
field in the definition for both bar styles.

For example: If you used Flag1 to mark tasks where "Fred" was assigned
and created a custom bar style to show his tasks (like FAQ 31), you can
also use Flag1 to create the a custom rolled up bar style to show Fred's
task on the summary task.

I hope this helps. If I've missed you point, sorry, let me know and
I'll try again.

Hi julie, thank it works a treat one Q, you have worked this from a
"top
down" scenario, as the lower tasks remain in the std MSP task blue
colour..
How can I change this to work from a bottom up ?? as im not sure how
(or if)
if i should somehow combine FAQ31

Hi,

I have a problem where i need to show an activity ( which we will
call
fred
see FAQ 31for reason) in a rolled up task bar that is different
from
the
rest.

I have followed 31, to give me the lower level task and changed the
colour (
say to green) but, do not know how to change the summary task bar
detail to
show this colour ( other than manual correction)
I can see other areas where i can use this within the same rolled
up
bar for
other tasks
.
can anyone help

Hello Andy,

You can create a rolled up summary bar definition to do what I think
you
are looking for. Search this newsgroup for a post with the subject
"Multiple task bars in one row" begun by "Nuncias" on March 13 for
some
detailed information.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
