Jan - I just tried your suggestion and I get the very same result. Bottom
line the assignment of the resources to be ignored stay put while the
assignments of the leveled resources are postponed. Right now my tasks at
set to 'fixed duration' and constraint type 'as soon as possible'. I
don't
know if that makes a difference.

My project contains a series of independent tasks (I use this to model
a
project portfolio). Each task has three resources assigned (varying
number
of hours per month for each task). When I attempt to level the project
against a single resource (by using 'can level' on the resource ***),
the
leveling algorithm modifies the duration of certain tasks or even
splits
those tasks even though my settings on the leveling dialog disable the
'level
only within available slack', 'leveling can adjust individual
assignment
on a
task', and 'leveling can create splits in remaining work'. What seems
to
happen is that, within a task, the algorithm will postpone the work of
the
resource against which I level, but will not impact the timing of the
work
of
the other resources assigned to the same task. The result I would like
is
that the 'whole' task would be postponed by the leveling, not just the
assignment of the leveled resource within that task. PLEASE HELP.
