One file for a product or a serparate for each iteration?

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hello Project Experts,

What is best for making up a planning for software development;

A) Use one file for each products with all its iterations in it, with
the benifit of an overall view and all the history in one file, but
with a never closing file.

B) Use one file for each iteration of the product, so you can close
that "project" when the iteration comes to an end.

Best Regards,

Henk.
