Re: Unable to publish project to project server

Another trick ...

I found that Project Server could not be added to the Trusted Sites, even
though the user held Local Admin.

The alternative solution if you are running AD & GPO is to include the
projectserver wtihin the trusted sites, and deploy the update via GPO.

OKay,
After reading the answer to this post and not being able to find the
information I decided to go hunting through the registry for a solution.

Apparently the answer is this
If the Project Server is hosted within the "IntraNet" then you can apply the
following registry fix to the computer running MS Project 2003, which will
allow the PM \ user to publish the project

* Exit Project 2003
* Open the Registry editor
* navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\MS Project\Options\General
* in the right hand windows right click the mouse and sellect New DWORD
* type "Enable untrusted intranet zone access to Project server - press return
* press enter & enter the value "1"
* Exit the registry editor

Open Project 2003
click on "collaborate" and select collaboration options
Ensure that you have entered the project server URL .....
then select the method of "identification for project server" - personally I
would recommend using windows user account
click OK

Now you should not experience any issues publishing the project plan

Hopefully this helps

1. When I try to save project it says "add project site to trusted sites"
it trys to add it but i get error " could not add to your trusted sites, try
to manually add it"
I try to manually add to trusted sites and I get an error "site already
exists in another zone"
I checked the other zones but it does not exist, I have also deleted all
references in registry pointing to site.

When I test the connection to project server everything works fine.

Can anyone assist?

pander212,
Sorry we haven't responded sooner. One reason that no one has responded
is that this newsgroup is dedicated to questions/issues with the
standalone version of MS Project. The people who answer questions on
Project Server generally also check this newsgroup but not necessarily
on a regular basis. Try posting to our sister newsgroup:
microsoft.public.project.server.
